Speaking at The Climate Museum for World Water Day 2024

I was invited to speak about my work as an environmental artist at the Climate Museum in honor of World Water Day in 2024 on behalf of the National Clean Water Collective.

While making these designs for National Clean Water Collective, there were several days when the water in my DC apartment wasn’t potable. I was making art about my connection to clean water and couldn’t even drink from my tap.

So instead, I focused on my connection to horseshoe crabs - a keystone species and an indicator of a healthy ecosystem. I grew up monitoring them in a river by my house and imagined a world where we didn’t need to track their existence.

This work was presented at the Collective’s “Wave of Change” fundraiser at the Climate Museum. We shared our experience creating the pieces, discussed our work in the climate field and shared hopes for the future. What a dream to exhibit and speak at the Climate Museum alongside other amazing artists and panelists.

“Waves of Change” bags, shirts and postcards can be purchased from The National Clean Water Collective here.
